Phase Series – Pit fired Ceramic sculptures

‘Phase Series' is a collection of individually unique, handcrafted stoneware sculptures. The sculptures are created from local Cornish clay and are circular in shape, each having an aperture which allows light to pass through, creating a visual change throughout the day/year. Pit firing is an alternative method of firing ceramics that requires a lower carbon footprint – making it a more sustainable process. The organic materials used to fuel the fire leave a unique naturally coloured trace of their existence on the surface of the sculptures. These pieces are highly decorative and would add to any nature lover’s environment.
