Unique framed pit fired ceramic tile. As with all my pit fired work there is no way to replicate this 2D piece.
A 10 cm x 10 cm pit fired tile has been framed in a wooden box frame. The red on the tile is created when the cooper in the pit fire burns – creating red smoke which permeates the porous clay.
As with cloud formations – everyone sees something different.
